Sustainability

Conscious Design
We create a very small number of beautifully knitted garments which are designed, knitted and hand finished in Cape Town, supporting the local textile industry and creating unique pieces. In addition, through the utilisation of locally sourced yarn we are able to help contribute to the growth of the local mohair industry.
Environmentally friendly materials
Our garments are crafted from natural yarns, with a focus on locally sourced materials whenever possible - such as our Merino Wool and Kid Mohair, predominantly from the Karoo and the Eastern Cape. Wool is widely recognised as an environmentally positive fibre, offering a range of benefits: it is 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable. Additionally, wool is thermo-regulating, easy to care for, and highly durable, allowing garments to be repaired and enjoyed for many years.
We also incorporate cotton and bamboo into our collections. Bamboo is a highly sustainable and eco-friendly choice and brings exceptional softness and a luxurious feel to our knitwear. It is naturally moisture-wicking, antibacterial, and highly breathable, contributing to lasting comfort and freshness.

Low impact
Wool is 100% biodegradable, so it does not contribute to microplastic pollution in our oceans or on our land. Renewable, recyclable, and boasting a long use phase, wool and wool products have meaningful, positive impacts throughout their lifecycle.*
Similarly, we also choose cotton and bamboo for their strong environmental credentials. Both are biodegradable and break down naturally, unlike synthetic fibres. Bamboo is especially sustainable, growing rapidly with minimal water and no need for pesticides or fertilisers.
